You're an experienced or entry-level REPORTER who loves writing about issues that affect readers' lives. You have a passion for news and a yen for digging, but you¹re also good at telling stories in the voices of ordinary people.

If that's an accurate description of you, let¹s talk about your future. The Umpqua Post is seeking an ambitious journalist who can balance daily breaking news with insightful, high-impact enterprise. We want a reporter who can write innovative, people-oriented stories but who also is comfortable analyzing a budget, asking hard questions, and finding the news that matters. You¹ll need an inquisitive mind, sharp writing skills.

The Umpqua Post is proud to be the only weekly newspaper serving Reedsport, Winchester Bay, Gardiner and Scottsburg. The Umpqua Post has been serving the fishing, farming and timber communities in the lower Umpqua area since 1996. In its short history, The Umpqua Post has always maintained a commitment to local community news. The newspaper offers a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation, a 401-K plan and stock options. To apply, send a cover letter, resume and clips to:
