After a false start in July, 2001 -- methinks I have really started
my very own Weblog
come visit !!!
My bout with
FMS/MPS
Imagine having
the 24 hour flu, 24 X 7 hours a day...or you learn you're living in a
TV episode <enter Twilight Zone Music here>
where some huge vehicle runs you down each morning before you tumble
out of bed...[replay this same episode over and over again in an infinite
loop]...or imagine yet another scenario--you are a helium balloon
that does not have quite enough helium to get your "tail" off the ground...and,
to top it off, you feel as if you're running out of memory [swapped out]
and losing IQ [where did I put those nouns?].
Welcome to
my world of Fibromyalgia (FMS)! This is an insidious illness, one
that is just beginning to be accepted and understood by the Medical Community.
Things that Doctors seem to agree on, are that PWFM (people with FMS)
do not get restorative sleep, they have 3 times the substance P in their
spine, they have a "disconnect" in their Synapse in the Limbic System
of the brain, it is a chronic [read: forever] illness, and it is
genetically based [one has to have a gene which makes them predisposed
to getting it]. The three things that seem to set it (this FMgene)
off, and /or exacerbate FMS are, viral trauma, emotional trauma and/or
physical trauma.
For more information on FMS, see the referring
links listed at
my FMS site
What does
a person do when they have FMS and "lost their life"? If they
are lucky...

Life
Purpose Reading
Having trained
with Dan Millman
, author of the Peaceful Warrior Series (The Way of the Peaceful Warrior
& Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior), I have found the system in
his book, The
Life you Were Born to Live, an invaluable tool in helping people
understand more about themselves, and the reason certain themes recur
in their lives.
The
material from the book, and the personal training I received from Dan,
has provided me with a methodology and opportunity to help others identify
and clarify issues that deal with their past, present and future path.
In
this reading, I work to guide you towards recognizing your personal life
patterns, identifying innate talents, abilities and special needs relating
to areas of health, livelihood, personality and relationships.
